There was something added, but it is currently disabled.

In m2, this should eventually "just work" by running the site goal
from the top level, and it can aggregate the content from all the
subprojects.

The main reason it isn't enabled yet is finding a way to have an individual sub
project's site look the same and inherit the site descriptor, etc.

As a first step we can roll in the first solution for the final of the
site plugin this week.
