I am having trouble invoking my project's old ant build script through maven. I wrote a custom plugin and installed it just fine. I then ran into some issues because the build file used some ant 1.6 extensions (i.e. import) so I downloaded maven-1.1 from subversion. I built my own version and jelly now recognizes the newer tags. However, I now have this problem.

Note that I have tried to decompose the problem as much as possible:

In my plugin.jelly, I have this goal:

<goal name="failing-goal" >
    <ant:xslt
      in="in.xml"
      out="out.xml"
      style="style.xsl"
    />
  </goal>

When I invoke this goal via maven failing-goal, I get the following error:

java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: org.apache.tools.ant.taskdefs.optional.XalanL

Any ideas? I have tried putting new versions of xalan and xerces into Maven's endorsed directory. I have also tried to make sure that Ant 1.5.X is no where to be found.

Please let me know if this is more appropriate for the jelly users list.

TIA,
Brad
