I see quite a few people dabbling around with
providers, some forking existing providers to add/change features.
I am not aware if any providers have been written yet for any
of the alternate jvm languages.

The API's are not officially frozen yet, and one of the main reasons
I have not been making any moves/proposals for this is that I want to do
an iteration over the internal design of the "reporting" subsystem as well
as iterate all the classes in the "api" module and explicitly mark
which is part of the api/not.

I am almost ready with the reporting stuffat the moment. The changes will not be
big AFIK, and there will be a well documented & simple upgrade path for the
early adapters.

As for writing providers for alternate jvm languages I think that
is best done within those communities and I think these should
be maintained/published along with their artifacts. As for other
providers, I think we'd have to do that case-by-case. Hosting on
github might be an equally good solution.

Hi,

I've just noticed that SUREFIRE-141 has been resolved (quite some time ago
now) and was wondering if there is any planned effort to write additional
providers? Or if there is a separate team/project/group that will be taking
this forward?

Or, is it simply too early given the API isn't frozen yet?

Thanks for any information,

Ryan
