I am attempting to use Maven for the first time, and I'm having
trouble getting it to run. I follow
the installation instructions exactly as stated. My JAVA_HOME
environment variable is set to
C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jdk1.6.0_16 and I have tried it in both user and
system variables. I verified that this
is the location of my Java installation. I'm running Windows Vista
Ultimate 32-bit.
When I test the Maven installation with mvn --3.0.2, I receive the error:
ERROR: JAVA_HOME is set to an invalid directory.
JAVA_HOME = "C:\ProgramFiles\Java\jdk1.6.0_16"
Please set the JAVA_HOME variable in your environment to match the
location of your Java installation.
Any ideas on how I might resolve this issue?
