I didn't say AMD was not using drivers. However, you would avoid all
these problems because the drivers for AMD are already in distribution.

There may be some advantage to the downloading packages provided by
the distribution rather than by rpmfusion but my rose colored glasses
seem to be blinding me to them.

An AMD user does "dnf update".  I do "dnf update".  Neither of us need
to do anything further.  At least, not being an AMD user, I assume they
need not do anything more.  I certainly don't.
