In my case.
 
/boot/loader/entries
is not correct
after
grub2-mkconfig -o /boot/grub2/grub.cfg
and
/boot/grub2/grub.cfg is also not corect
1) the kenerl 6.13.11  is not detected.
2) vmlinuz-6.13.9-100.fc40.x86_64 is detected with 'Fedora Linux 38 (Workstation Edition) will it should be Fedora 40
3) /etc/system-release  is correct [Fedora release 40 (Forty)]
 
 
 
Note the 6.14 kernel seems to be causing more the the usually new
kernel issues at the moment. We are seeing a lot of users with issue over
 
You can always check your hardware is working from a live usb image before
doing the upgrade to f42, which is what I do to avoid disappointment.
 
Having said that my desktop (amdgpu) and server systems all
upgraded without issue.
