It seems like you're covered with just tweaking your PS1 but if you wanted more conditional behaviour, have a look at PROMPT_DIRTRIM (cf: https://stackoverflow.com/a/8428363) If you want to only change the prompt for a specific directory, or set of directories, https://direnv.net/ is just the ticket (and already available from the Fedora repos.)
