I have used an Apple "MagicMouse" <ttps://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic_Mouse>with linux. I preferred it over the wheel mice (Dell + MS) in our lab at the time (mice are not usable at sea -- working in an oceanographic institute, new mice often ended up in junk boxes). -- George N.
