The 2TB "WD passport" that I have worked "out of the box" on my
(centos-6 and -7) systems -- with ntfs-3g installed. If you plan to
use them exclusively on linux systems they can be reformatted to
ext4, which then lets you (among other things) use rhel/fedora
built-in encryption capabilities.
