Browsers are making that harder, now.

I used to use dead-zones in my DNS server to kill obnoxious adverts and
tracking (e.g. all doubleclick traffic gets fatally killed).  But Google
is now proxying stuff its own browser does through its own servers,
taking things out of my hands (and degrading my security and privacy
with such a practice).  They also removed some advert blocking addons
from their store.  I can see this kind of thing happening in other
browsers, eventually.

If advertisers weren't so bloody obnoxious, we wouldn't have to be
blocking their adverts.  They have only themselves to blame for being
blocked.  And it's inexcusable to shove your foot in someone's door when
you've already been told to rack off.
