Sorry for the confusion there. We'd filed a bug with sddm upstream much earlier (Oct 9, 2014) documenting that gnome_keyring didn't work, https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/286 In asking them for a status update today, they reported the issue fixed, arguably due to a bug triaging failure on their part, in that it was reported again in a much later bug (filed Mar 15, 2015) https://github.com/sddm/sddm/issues/385 and investigation and documented as fixed there instead. In the end, it's good news and that it's fixed.
