bug in filter/filterset ??

I am using the filter/filterset to copy files from one dir to another. 
It is working for text files, but binary (.gifs, .jpgs) are getting 
totally screwed up. I can work around this by using two copy tasks (one 
excluding binaries, the other excluding text files), but I was wondering 
if there was some other way -- something I am missing??

Anybody seen this before?
