Binary package hint: kdebase-workspace

I have a laptop connected to an external monitor. When trying to
configure the displays using systemsettings, setting the laptop screen
(LVDS1) to "right of" or "left of" the external (VGA1) does not work
properly - the desktop does not get extended onto the laptop screen.
Interestingly, the display *is* on, but black. When moving the mouse
pointer to the right edge of the external display, the mouse pointer
appears on the left side of the laptop screen, but it cannot be moved
any farther than the far left edge of the laptop display. Also
positioning LVDS1 and VGA1 using absolute positioning to place LVDS1 to
the right of VGA1 causes it to fail in the same manner. Setting LVDS1
to "Above" or "Below" VGA1 does work as expected. This, however, is an
inconvenience, as in my setup, the displays are side by side.
