the package problem seems to be fixed, did an apt-get update and xorg was installed but now i get an segmentation fault, pretty similar to this bug (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/maverick/+source/xserver-xorg-video-intel/+bug/602899). it happens even if i choose start as failsafe.
