I have the same issue on a Compaq mini 110 with Lucid. Fresh install of lucid, all updates. I have seen this issue reported on the foruns and some different bug reports. different versions, different computers with different video adapters. A workaround is to change the brightness using the keyboard, but the bug should be found. I have to see how to do a propper bug report.
