I've the same bug on different PC, but all with nvidia card X don't start, at boot remain the kubuntu spash, on press ctrl-alt-canc, the system restart, and at the reboot (not every time) the X starts OK. Sometime I need to staaart in recovery mode and reconfigure the graphic card.
