Just a precision (may not be obvious to everyone): "xserver-xorg-input- vmmouse" has to be uninstalled on the virtualized system, not in the hosting system. Which is not very convenient when running a live CD, because the user has to install it, then restart the X server (each time he runs the liveCD).
