Chris, how the hell do i access System→Preferences→Monitors when I cant get a GUI up.
Also, monitors should work when you plug them in! Ubuntu 7.10, 8.04,8.10, 9.04, 9.10 using intel, ati and nv drivers allowed me to unplug the monitor and plug it back in. Even in Windows!
