Right. So my computer, which worked fine via Compiz in Karmic, is now almost unusably slow and Compiz-less in Lucid, and this bug remains unassigned just a week or two before release.
Still, it's only a substantial regression in an LTS. Why bother fixing it when there are window-gadget-positions to argue about.
