I just confirmed this workaround does function on the ubuntu lucid alpha 3 live. I created a bootable sd card with unetbootin and the alpha3 iso, then edited the file syslinux.cfg on the sdcard and changed the similar default line to the following:
append initrd=/ubninit file=/cdrom/preseed/ubuntu.seed boot=casper i8042.nomux nomodeset acpi_backlight=vendor quiet splash -- brightness adjust now works fine, and doesn't freeze the machine. -- [gm45] Acer 1410t Brightness Adjust with Compiz system freeze https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446717 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
