I used to have my left monitor at the top, but then when I move my mouse or a program across them it will jump 200 pixels vertically, and it doesn't look very nice. I guess one solution is to physically move my left monitor higher by placing something under it, although that doesn't seem like a very elegant solution. I could also swap my monitors, although I've been using them like this for years.
