Hi, I am constantly fiddling with this problem, too. My Dell Inspiron 8200 running the "Koala" 9.10 never resumes neither from suspend nor from hibernation, always resulting in a frozen black screen, in the end. The patch of xorg.conf did not change anything for me. So, I executed the "apport-collect -p linux 352948" procedure as described, producing all the stuff cited above. Hope this helps.
