If Lucid with xorg-edgers turns out to be running fine (xorg-edgers usually has other bugs, but if it is not freezing) and Lucid without it does freeze, we may have quite a lot of troubleshooting to do in order to find the fix. If standard Lucid does not freeze, we can all rejoice :-)
