Installed: xserver-xorg-video-ati_6.12.99+git20090825.fc74e119-0ubuntu2_amd64 from link above installed with dpkg -i and changed the section in /usr/share/hal/fdi/information/10freedesktop/20-video-quirk-pm-acer.fdi to: <match key="system.hardware.product" contains_outof="1520;1650;5100;5110;5570;5920"> <merge key="power_management.quirk.radeon_off" type="bool">true</merge> <merge key="power_management.quirk.vbe_post" type="bool">true</merge> <merge key="power_management.quirk.vbemode_restore" type="bool">true</merge> <merge key="power_management.quirk.vbestate_restore" type="bool">true</merge> </match> and then rebooted the computer.
its still hanging on resume from suspend to ram with a black screen on acer aspire 5100-3583.
