Huh, I just found a very simple solution to my problem. Following this post http://swiss.ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=8337500&postcount=6 I used gconf-editor to set the key -->desktop-->gnome-->peripherals-->touchpad-->disable_while_typing to false. That easy :DDD
