Hi, I have Dell Latitude E4200 with an integrated intel graphics, latest Karmic; I had the same problem, mouse clicks in launcher worked only in in certain places, both in tabs and for application icons. Mouse highlight worked ok, though.
Upgrade of only the xorg-edgers PPA xserver-xorg-video-intel did not help, but apt-get upgrade did.
