Thanks, Brandon, for this info. This is great news for users that benefit from VDPAU, for example those users using mplayer/mencoder, that the Nvidia Vdpau Team PPA also offers. I myself use VLC and as I understand it cannot yet use VDPAU, not even the latest 1.04 version. Anyways, I'll wait for the day the official lucid repos get upgraded (nvidia-glx).
