Running Karmic (9.10), problem occurred for the first time (that I've noticed) today - screen blanks for less than a second, followed by an icon in the notification area pointing at http://blogs.gnome.org/hughsie/2009/08/17/gnome-power-manager-and-blanking-removal-of-bodges/
