i made new tests, with 2.6.32-rc8 mainline kernel and the 1:6.12.99+git20091109.0ee7763f-0ubuntu0sarvatt radeon driver only slight improvements. with empty xorg.conf, the panel maneges to load, but there is no background. if i try to start anything, X restarts with depth set to 16 bits through xorg.conf, background manages to load too, and i can even use the autostarted tilda terminal. but when i start any "bigger" apps, X restarts the greenish corruption is gone see attached logs
