There is a grave problem with the intel graphics driver in the karmic
koala release. Since karmic was installed, the driver crashes every few
days (with jaunty it was running perfectly stable). The machine itself
remains up and running, but the display is turned permanently off so the
only possibility I see is a remote login to reboot.
In dmesg I found this:
Nov 11 17:07:10 zweistein kernel: [25202.184012] INFO: task i915/1:298 blocked
for more than 120 seconds.
