Im affected since a few hours by this problem. Don't know why this happened. By playing a bit with the variable "TouchpadOff" I found out that the values seem to apply for a few seconds and are "overwritten" or somethyng by another process. Not so long ago I had a similar conflict with "syndaemon -i 3 -d -t -K" that syndaemon could not deactivate the tapping for the specified 3 seconds but i could solve it by deactivating the option "lock mousepad when typing" at Mouse-Configuration -> Touchpad (take in mind that the names of the options may differ because i not use an english system).
