Public bug reported:

Hello,
the update of version 0.17-3ubuntu0.24.04.1 of libpciaccess causes that the
screen is switched-off/disconnected while the login screen is show.
I'm using Linux Mint 22.1 Cinnamon. If this update gets installed, the next
time booting the system looks like this:

1. The Linux boot screen gets shown
2. The screen gets black and switches off. "blind" login still is possible.
3. If logged in the screen switches on again and I can use my system as always

I did reset my system multiple times with timeshift and now I'm sure it is the
update of libpciaccess that causes this problem.
Other people have the same problem:
https://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?t=448655
I already did report the bug at
https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/lib/libpciaccess/-/issues/24 but there they
said I should report it here because the patch from Ubuntu causes the problem.

Some details to my system:

Kernel: 6.8.0-62-generic arch: x86_64 bits: 64 compiler: gcc v: 13.3.0
clocksource: tsc
Desktop: Cinnamon v: 6.4.8 tk: GTK v: 3.24.41 wm: Muffin v: 6.4.1 vt: 7 dm:
LightDM v: 1.30.0

Graphics:
Device-2: AMD Ellesmere [Radeon RX 470/480/570/570X/580/580X/590] vendor: Tul /

I hope this is the right place for the issue. Please let me know if more
information is needed.
Unfortunately "ubuntu-bug libpciaccess" does not work at Linux Mint.

Best Regards
Christian
