I reproduced the bug with Wayland, switched to a different terminal, ran
journalctl -b0 > journal.txt. But when I switched back to TTY2 (not sure
if that's the proper term), Gnome shell was running fine and I could use
it as normal.

So I did it again:

1. Log in with Wayland while moving mouse to reproduce bug; screen was blank
2. Switch to TTY6, didn't even bother logging in this gmie
3. Switch back to TTY2, Gnome was logged in and working fine

I'm attaching the journal file anyway in case it's helpful.

** Attachment added: "journal-movemouse.txt"
