So https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/egl-wayland/+bug/1965563/comments/40 tested the proposed package on an hybrid system, with nvidia 550, thus satisfying the test plan criteria. The statement "everything works correctly" is very vague, though, and I would like a more accurate description of which steps were carried out. The test plan, for example, asks to verify it's a wayland session, and gnome-text-editor is the candidate app: * Log-in to a Wayland desktop session.
* Verify that you can start `gnome-text-editor`. Comment https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/egl- wayland/+bug/1965563/comments/26 by the same person states the test steps with the ppa package in a bit more detail. Still not using gnome- text-editor, but "libadwaita apps". I don't know what libadwaita apps are, and if they are a replacement for the gnome-text-editor, so let's check... I can see it depends on gtk4, just like gnome-text-editor. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/egl- wayland/+bug/1965563/comments/39 carried out the test plan regression steps on an unknown system, but presumably one where nvidia is the sole graphics card. Given the above, even though the test plan was not exactly followed, I think there is enough evidence that an equivalent test was done. Please record more carefully the test steps that you executed in future SRUs, as that is essential for the verification and confidence in the update. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to egl-wayland in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1965563 Title: GNOME apps crash with "Protocol error" in NVIDIA Wayland sessions To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/egl-wayland/+bug/1965563/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : ubuntu-x-swat@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
