> Could you please give me some hints how to identify it's a bug in the VMware Xorg graphics driver?
The hint was that it only happened on the one system I've ever seen that was using Xorg on VMware. :) If the problem was more general than that then someone else would have reported it in the 2+ years since Ubuntu 20.04 was released. Although bug 1865963 might be the same issue, maybe? ** Summary changed: - [vmwgfx] Login screen not refreshing properly on vSphere + [vmwgfx] Login screen not refreshing properly on vSphere when WaylandEnable=false -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-vmware in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1973660 Title: [vmwgfx] Login screen not refreshing properly on vSphere when WaylandEnable=false To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-video-vmware/+bug/1973660/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
