This machine is a frankenstien to help debug the issues with my main
workstation. I need to upgrade but dual GPU is horribly broken on across
all flavors and even non-Ubuntu/Debian distros.

I was explicitly testing how the system functions with no xorg.conf
between 2 separate GPU's. Yes the nVidia GPU is ancient and too old for
the proprietary drivers. Again just what I had on hand to simulate dual
GPU's for testing so I don't have to butcher my workstation while I
test. However despite the age of the nVidia GPU this nouveau issue
persists on newer cards as well.

Workstation has two "modern" GTX 1XXX series cards but the problems are
the same. Compositors don't draw at all or incorrectly to anything on
another XScreen or GPU which brings me to your disable the old GPU
comment. The point is to use the hardware, not lose it. I've found a ton
of problems in things moving forward and am looking for a solution
rather than "Hey just throw one GPU and all it's screens in the trash
because somethings broken in software." Ultimately this issue affects
modern dual GPU systems as well as matched brand cards. Things work in
18.04, everything breaks moving to 20.04/21.04.
