Thanks for all that.

Confusingly you now seem to be getting hangs in the Intel kernel driver
followed by gnome-shell crashes. This seems to be a different bug to
what we were looking at before, probably caused by using Wayland instead
of Xorg...

Please change back to 'Ubuntu' instead of 'Ubuntu on Wayland', and then
follow the steps in comment #16.
