Also, your kernel is booted with modesetting disabled. Please remove the
'nomodeset' kernel parameter and then run:

  sudo update-initramfs

and reboot.

Does brightness now work? If not then please re-run:

  ls -l /sys/class/backlight/

and tell us what it says.
