"out of range" doesn't mean it's the wrong resolution. It means that you've specified some frequencies/values that the monitor can't support, or isn't meant to support in case they cause damage.
It's unclear to me if this is a bug in Xorg, a faulty monitor, or just a misunderstanding. ** Package changed: xorg (Ubuntu) => xorg-server (Ubuntu) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1777633 Title: Xorg Out of Range with VGA native resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1777633/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
