Public bug reported:
I tried this driver on an arm64 server w/ an AST2000 controller, but it
fails. Initially it fails because it cannot find the module:
[ 1882.123] (II) LoadModule: "ast"
[ 1882.124] (WW) Warning, couldn't open module ast
[ 1882.124] (II) UnloadModule: "ast"
[ 1882.124] (II) Unloading ast
[ 1882.124] (EE) Failed to load module "ast" (module does not exist, 0)
stracing X shows that the driver appears to be installed in a directory
outside of Xorg's configured search path (/usr/lib/aarch64-linux-
gnu/xorg/modules/drivers/). To get passed this, I symlinked the module
into /usr/lib/xorg/modules/drivers. That allows X to find and load the
module, but it fails to initialize:
[ 2186.430] (II) AST(0): Creating default Display subsection in Screen section
