The display applet shows 2 options only: 640x480 and 800x600 whereas the screen
is an LCD (1360x768)
Creating the following xorg.conf and restarting gdm shows the higher
resolutions in the display applet:

Identifier "<default monitor>"
HorizSync 31.5-48.0
VertRefresh 56.0-65.0
EndSection
