I can confirm this bug is still alive and well. I'm experiencing it both on Ubuntu 13.10 and 14.04.
I'm attaching my results from xrandr on 14.04*. Perhaps worth noticing, I've had no success disabling the unknown display with the solution posted here http://askubuntu.com/questions/362081/two-monitors-when-only-having-one- in-13-10/365017#365017 *In an effort to solve what I think is related problems with my HDMI port, I've decided to test the beta release so unfortunately I can't at the moment give you 13.10 results. ** Attachment added: "xrandr" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1244827/+attachment/3951551/+files/xrandr -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1244827 Title: [13.10] Ubuntu detects a non-existing screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1244827/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
