You have been subscribed to a public bug: Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-driver-ati
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS Lucid xserver-xorg-driver-ati 6.13.0-1 possibly: xserver-xorg 7.5-5 window manager: KDE 4.4.2 This bug is similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/568988 but is NOT limited to compositing. The system will freeze for a second or two whether compositing is on or off when certain user interface functions are called. Xorg CPU usage is 100% and takes priority from other system processes. The mouse will not respond and if audio is playing it will stutter. User interface functions affected are: window switching (changing focus), window open, scroll frame, viewing an image Functions NOT affected: window minimize/maximize, desktop cube, present windows, most effects This bug occurred in previous ubuntu version 9.10 but was fixed with the workaround: Option "MigrationHeuristic" "greedy" in xorg.conf This option no longer has any effect. These options improve scrolling speed/smoothness on GTK based applications only. Option "EXANoUploadToScreen" "1" Option "EXANoDownloadFromScreen" "1" ** Affects: xserver-xorg-video-ati (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- slow/lockup on window switching, displaying scrolling pixmaps, etc https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/577288 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-ati in Ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
