I am currently running 13.04 and the same problem is still present. It's been with me since 12.04
But now I have discovered a pattern to these freezes: My power cord is always unplugged when Ubuntu freezes. I have a usage pattern that might have an impact: Whenever the screen saver is starting (the desktop is fading out), I push shift or move my mouse to avoid having to write the password. I know, it's odd behavior since I could just prolong the timeout. Clearly this has to do with power management, anyway. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/585765 Title: [HP ProBook 6440b] Ubuntu 10.04 random freezes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/585765/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
