OK with a little playing around I found that when I use the function keys to adjust the brightness the screen doesn't update but will used that setting after a reboot. i.e. set brightness to minimum and reboot brightness = minimum, set brightness to maximum reboot brightness = maximum.
After a few reboots and some trial and error I got it at a comfortable brightness. Hope this helps someone. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xorg-server in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1196203 Title: the display brightness doesn't change (it is to the max) with Mir in ubuntu 13.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1196203/+subscriptions _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
