I recently upgraded from ASUS V9999 6800GT (NVida AGP card) 256MB to a
Sapphire HD 3850 (ATI AGP card) w/512MB for gaming purposes with the
other OS from 2002.

Prior to upgrading my video card, Ubuntu 8.10 32bit worked quite well in dual
boot.
Since I do not know how to change video drivers in Ubuntu (very noob) I decided
to reinstall 8.10.
I put the CD in the drive bay and booted up.
I got the screen to choose my launguage and pressed enter for English.
I got the screen to go live or install to the hard drive. I chose install to
the hard drive.
I got the Ubuntu logo and the scrolling orange bar.
Then the screen goes blank and actually goes into power save mode and I can't
get it back on.
I reboot the PC and try again, same thing.
Instead of installing to the HD I decided to try just going live (without
installng to the HD), it does the same thing.
The screen goes blank and I can't get it back until I reboot.

I then tried 8.10 64bit. It installs properly and updates but my Plustek
1212U scanner doesn't work but that's another bug for another time.
