You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've just upgraded to hoary, and now I'm seeing something that looks a lot like bug #8146: my windows key is no longer able to be assigned to keyboard shortcuts, and the existing shortcuts I had that use it don't work anymore.
I've tried to use the altwin:super_win workaround described in comments 16 and 18 of #1390, but I get "Error activating XKB configuration". The output of the commands that error dialog suggests are: and...@trogdor ~ $ xprop -root | grep XKB _XKB_RULES_NAMES_BACKUP(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc104", "us", "inet(hpi6)", "" _XKB_RULES_NAMES(STRING) = "xfree86", "pc104", "us", "inet(hpi6)", "" and...@trogdor ~ $ gconftool-2 -R /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/kbd layouts = [us inet(hpi6)] model = pc104 overrideSettings = false options = [altwin altwin:super_win] I'm not sure what package is responsible, so I'm leaving as UNKNOWN, but CCing Daniel Stone because he probably knows :) http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165343: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=165343 ** Affects: gnome-control-center Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown ** Affects: null Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Affects: xkeyboard-config (Ubuntu) Importance: Low Assignee: Ubuntu Desktop Bugs (desktop-bugs) Status: Confirmed -- Cannot use Windows key in keyboard shortcuts https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/bugs/12153 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xkeyboard-config in ubuntu. _______________________________________________ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat Post to : [email protected] Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
