The only way I've been able to install Ubuntu 9.04 on my Acer Travelmate 5530G is by using the alternate dvd. I can't remember all the steps I had to take to get the system to work, the installer complained about a buggy ACPI, devices not ready (ata1 & ata2) and so on. I'm not sure what percentage of the problems encountered are due to the laptop itself. Cheers, Matthias Andersson
