Anthony, I have tried the patch, it seems still not resolving the issue. I seems to me that ACPI event not coming from the kernel, please verify.
And for the video switch hotkey, please attach an extended monitor, using Fn+F8(may different from platforms) to switch amon extended mode/internal eDP1/external monitor.
