In this debian bug report they discuss the problem on another kind of level. http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689268
For my understanding, the but has to do with the kernel graphics drivers used for Intel Ivy Bridge (perhaps only GPU HD4000?). I think the problem is well known by some kernel developers. But for a solution it seems we need to wait. I was not able to understand the discussion in the debian bugreport in all facets. Maybe someone from the ubuntu kernel team can comment this? ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #689268 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=689268 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu-X, which is subscribed to xserver-xorg-video-intel in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993187 Title: ubuntu 12.04 completely freezes frequently.
